PGKA - Coach´s Corner - 2on1 with back-checker pressure

On the whistle back-checker starts drill with a pass to one of the two forwards in front of him. The forwards start the 2on1 against the defender ready on

top of the circle.

The drill initiator now starts to backcheck hard in order to create a 2on2 situation. The forwards try to rush the 2on1 in order to not let the

back-checker close the gap and help out in defense.

Vary the starting position of all players to buy more or less time for the forwards on the 2on1.

The key points are:

- Back-checkers skate hard

- Forwards try to play quickly and attack the defender (criss-cross, etc)

- Good communication between the defender and the back-checker
